The water in Sungai Relau turns murky during the rainy season. The large overhanging trees along the riverbank are Neram trees (Dipterocarpus oblongifolius); very common in Pahang, Kelantan, Terengganu, and Borneo. They are very important in protecting riverbanks from erosion.
